EU to Resume Talks on How to Pressure Israel Over War in Gaza
The European Union will resume talks on how to respond to the humanitarian situation in Gaza after previously failing to agree on measures to sanction Israel over its approach to the ongoing war in the Palestinian territory.
The Netherlands and Sweden urged other member states to increase pressure on Israel in a joint letter addressed to the head of EU diplomacy Kaja Kallas and dated Aug. 27. Defense and foreign ministers are gathering in Copenhagen on Saturday, and Gaza is among the discussion items on the agenda.
