CDC Vaccine Advisers Schedule September Meeting Amid Disarray

CDC Director Fired After Clashing With RFK Jr. Over Vaccines

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, currently awash in controversy as its leader fights her firing, scheduled a meeting of its key vaccine panel for September as experts plan a review of the shots that are currently the bedrock of the nation’s immunization schedules.

The Advisory Committee of Immunization Practices — or ACIP — will discuss the measles, mumps, rubella and varicella shot, plus vaccines to prevent respiratory syncytial virus and Covid. Votes may be conducted on Covid vaccines, MMRV, hepatitis B vaccines and RSV. The panel helps decide which immunizations are covered by insurance or offered for free under the Vaccines for Children Program.
