The S&P 500 Index gained 0.2%, advancing for the third time in nine sessions. The Nasdaq 100 Index also added 0.2%, though Nvidia slipped 0.1%. A basket tracking the Magnificent Seven stocks including Apple Inc. and Meta Platforms Inc., finished flat.
