India expects its indigenously-built missile shield to be operational within a decade, defense chief Anil Chauhan said.

The shield, called Sudarshan Chakra and akin to Israel’s Iron Dome, would protect “India’s strategic, civilian and nationally important sites,” Chauhan said Tuesday at a seminar on new technology and warfare in Mhow, a garrison town in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
