US Federal Aviation Administration staff working at the agency’s current headquarters in Washington will be relocated to a newer facility already in use by the Department of Transportation, Secretary Sean Duffy said in a message to employees Tuesday.

“For decades, the FAA has been housed under a patchwork of federal buildings separate from the rest of the Department of Transportation,” Duffy said in the memo seen by Bloomberg News. “Over the years, this dislocation has created unnecessary complexities between the Department and the agency,” he said, making “responsiveness, accountability, and transparency” challenging.
