Turkey Set to End Ban on Investors Short-Selling Stocks
Turkish officials are planning to let a short-selling ban that’s been in place since March expire at the end of the month in an effort to boost the stock market’s appeal to foreign investors, people familiar with the matter said.
A recent surge in the benchmark index to a record high and the resumption of central bank interest-rate cuts are among other reasons for the decision, two people with the knowledge of the matter told Bloomberg on Monday, speaking on condition of anonymity as deliberations continue.
