Trump Route in Caucasus Can Boost Trade From China If US Allows
Turkey sees the potential for faster trade between China and Europe through a South Caucasus corridor set to open as a result of this month’s US-brokered peace deal between Armenia and Azerbaijan — if Washington doesn’t limit its use.
The Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity, or TRIPP — which links mainland Azerbaijan with its Naxcivan exclave on Turkey’s border via Armenia — will make “the east-west line from Beijing to London function more efficiently,” Turkey’s Transportation Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu said Thursday.
