Trump Nominates Personnel Aide Sergio Gor as Ambassador to India

President Donald Trump is nominating White House aide Sergio Gor as ambassador to India, elevating the campaign fundraiser and Republican operative to a top diplomatic post at a time when tensions between the two countries are running high.

Gor will also become Trump’s special envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs, the president said on social media. As head of the White House Presidential Personnel Office, Gor oversaw the hiring of nearly 4,000 “America First Patriots across every Department of our Federal Government in RECORD time,” Trump wrote.
