Slain Colombian Senator Uribe’s Father to Run for Presidency

Miguel Uribe Londoño, father of assassinated Senator Miguel Uribe, will step into Colombia’s 2026 presidential race as a pre-candidate for the opposition Democratic Center party.

The party said Friday the family decided Uribe Londoño would take his late son’s place after the senator died earlier this month from injuries sustained in a June shooting.
