Chile right-wing presidential candidate Jose Antonio Kast pledged to scrap a capital gains tax on some stock sales and spur investment to propel economic growth, according to the front-runner’s government plan.

If elected, Kast will eliminate a capital gains levy on the sale of low-value stocks, his program said. His administration will create a new investment statute providing greater judicial and tax certainties for both local and global investors, according to the document published on Thursday night.
