Iceland Home Prices Are Key for Rate Plans, Central Banker Says

Iceland’s central bank chief, Asgeir Jonsson, indicated that the Atlantic nation’s housing market needs to cool before officials would consider extending their easing campaign.

Speaking in an interview in Reykjavik on Wednesday after pausing interest-rate cuts, the governor said he “hopes” housing prices would stop their increase that has been “very steep” over the last four to five years.
