Nickel, copper and other industrial metals drifted lower in London as traders awaited a key meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, with a fresh round of US and Chinese data also due before the weekend.
Trump signaled a tough stance toward the Russian leader, warning he would impose “very severe consequences” if Putin didn’t agree to a ceasefire. But he downplayed expectations for the delivery of a full peace deal from the summit in Alaska on Friday.
