Romanian Top Ruling Party Pressures Coalition on Funding Dispute

Romania’s two-months old ruling alliance was rocked by a conflict over an austerity drive, prompting the largest party to say it will boycott future coalition meetings.

The Social Democrats put forward three conditions to Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan before they resume their attendance at the meetings, including cutting an expensive special pensions scheme, party leader Sorin Grindeanu said.
