Deutsche Lufthansa AG has abandoned negotiations to take a stake in Air Europa, leaving Turkish Airlines as the only remaining bidder for the Spanish airline after Air France-KLM also withdrew and IAG SA was denied twice to buy a holding.

“After thorough analysis and intense negotiations, we have, at this stage, decided against further engaging in capital contribution and shareholding in Air Europa,” a Lufthansa spokesman said.
