SK Hynix Inc. surpassed Samsung Electronics Co. as the world’s top memory maker in the second quarter, largely due to AI-driven demand.

Samsung’s results on Thursday showed its memory revenue — including both DRAM and NAND — dropped to 21.2 trillion won ($15.2 billion) for the three months to June, less than the 21.8 trillion won that SK Hynix reported a week earlier.
