One Dead From NYC Legionnaires’ Outbreak With Cases Growing
An outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease in New York City’s Harlem neighborhood is expected to grow after the disease caused one death and sickened dozens of people.
Local health officials announced the death Wednesday, but no other details were provided. The outbreak was first identified on July 25. The NYC Health Department is now aware of 30 people who have been sickened, up from 22 on Wednesday. Because symptoms can develop within six days of exposure, the Health Department expects more infections to be reported, a spokesperson told Bloomberg News.
