Hong Kong Growth Fastest Since 2023 as Spending Stabilizes
Hong Kong’s economy grew at the fastest pace in more than a year in the second quarter, riding on a boost in local spending and strong exports as global companies frontloaded shipments to avoid President Donald Trump’s tariffs.
Gross domestic product expanded 3.1% in April-June compared to the same period last year, according to advance estimates released Thursday by the Census and Statistics Department, the fastest pace since the end of 2023 and beating economist estimates for a 2.8% increase.
