ECB Must Stay ‘Completely Open’ on Future Policy, Villeroy Says

The European Central Bank needs to stay flexible about where to take interest rates with inflation pressures in check, according to Governing Council member Francois Villeroy de Galhau.

Speaking after markets began to price out the likelihood of a final cut in borrowing costs this cycle, the French central bank chief said it’s “important to remain completely open” about future monetary-policy decisions.
