Yen Jumps Then Quickly Erases Gains After Japan 15% Tariff Deal

The Japanese currency spiked as much as 0.3% against the dollar and then quickly erased gains after US President Donald Trump’s announcement of 15% tariffs on Japanese imports.

The yen traded roughly even at 146.69 as of 9:12 a.m. Tokyo time. Japanese government bond futures fell 70 ticks to 137.90. The 30-year bond yield rose 4 basis points to 3.12%.
