Poland Seeks to Get Stake in Surveillance-Satellite Maker Iceye

Poland is taking steps to purchase a stake in privately-held Iceye Oy, the Finnish maker of advanced Earth-observation satellites.

Vinci SA, an investment vehicle of the country’s state development bank BGK, is in final talks to acquire Iceye’s convertible debt in the ongoing funding round, according to people familiar with the process, who didn’t disclose the size of the potential transaction. The investment will support the company’s plans to expand production as well as research and development facilities in Poland, they said.
