President Donald Trump’s budget director said he’s not the heir to Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency — but that he is still focused on looking for ways to cut waste and deregulate the economy.
“I’m the head of two agencies. I am the head of OMB and of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. That’s it. It’s always been fake news that I was named head of DOGE,” White House Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought said Thursday.
