HDFC Bank Shares Rise as Lender Mulls First-Ever Bonus Issue
HDFC Bank Ltd.’s stock advanced on Wednesday after India’s largest private-sector lender said it is considering an issue of bonus shares for the first time.
The bank’s board will review the proposal to issue free shares — its first-ever — on July 19, when the lender is also due to announce its quarterly earnings, according to a filing. Shares closed little changed at 1,996.3 rupees, paring gains of much as 1.4%.
