The Directorate General of Civil Aviation asked operators to complete the inspections within a week to ensure continued airworthiness and safety of operation, according to a statement on Monday. Air India has completed checks on the locking mechanism of the fuel control switches on most of their Boeing 737s and about half of its 33 787 jets.
