Euro Resilient on Bets Trump’s 30% Tariff Threat Won’t Stick

The euro showed resilience on Monday, holding steady against the dollar as investors bet the European Union will clinch a trade deal with the US and avoid the steep 30% tariffs threatened by Donald Trump over the weekend.

The common currency traded little changed against the dollar at $1.1686, paring an earlier slide of as much as 0.3% to $1.1651, the lowest level in nearly three weeks.
