UK Hiring Tumbles by Most in Nearly Two Years, KPMG Survey Shows

Hiring by UK businesses plunged at the fastest pace in nearly two years, according to a survey that suggested that the fallout from a hike in payroll taxes is showing little sign of letting up.

Permanent staff appointments fell by the most in 22 months in June and the number of available workers jumped, a monthly report by KPMG and the Recruitment and Employment Confederation showed.
