UAE Aluminum Maker EGA Says Guinea Ends Unit’s Operating Accord

Emirates Global Aluminium PJSC said the government of Guinea “wrongfully” terminated the agreement that allows the operations of the company’s unit in the west African country.

EGA subsidiary Guinea Alumina Corp. had the “Basic Agreement” governing its concession terminated, a move that will result in about 2,000 job losses and preclude the development of a metals refinery in the country, EGA said in a statement.
