Bankinter SA, Spain’s fifth-biggest lender by assets, is considering expanding into new markets in Europe, including through acquisitions, as it looks to almost double the share of its international revenue in about a decade.

The growth could be organic or through deals “within the eurozone and of manageable size,” Chief Executive Officer Gloria Ortiz said in an interview. With overseas revenue seen at as much as 18% by 2026, Ortiz said her plan is to boost that to 20% by 2029 and eventually to a third in the next five to 10 years, she added.
