Colombia Arrests Key Suspect in Senator Assassination Attempt

Colombian police arrested one of the main suspects in the June assassination attempt of Senator Miguel Uribe Turbay, Caracol Radio reported.

Elder José Arteaga Hernández, aka “El Costeño,” the alleged mastermind of the attack against Uribe Turbay, was arrested in a west Bogota neighborhood, police and the attorney general’s office confirmed Saturday. Arteaga is the fifth person arrested in the case, which includes a 15-year-old alleged shooter.
