Serbia has received assurances from China that it would support speeding up exports of materials critical for electric-vehicle production, benefiting companies like Stellantis NV, which operates a factory in the Balkan country, President Aleksandar Vucic said on Sunday.

The Serbian government intervened on behalf of Stellantis, leveraging its strong ties with China after the carmaker sought assistance amid mounting difficulties in sourcing key materials, Vucic told reporters in Belgrade. President Xi Jinping personally pledged his support for “accelerated” permitting, the Serbian leader said.
