Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban told the European Union’s executive to stay out of his nation’s affairs after Commission President Ursula von der Leyen called on authorities to revoke a ban of the Pride parade in Budapest.

The annual Pride event, which celebrates LGBTQ identity and is set to take place on Saturday in defiance of a police ban, will be a test of Orban’s crackdown before next year’s election. It’s just one of the flash points between Budapest and Brussels, with Orban’s block of Ukraine’s EU accession process a key topic at the bloc’s summit on Thursday.
