Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago President Austan Goolsbee said the central bank could resume interest-rate cuts if the inflation hit from tariffs remains subdued, without weighing in on the exact timing of such a move.

“The surprise has been that, so far at least, we’ve had three months of inflation data where there hasn’t been much inflation,” Goolsbee said Monday during an event in Milwaukee.
