Orban Confronts Strongest Opposition Poll Surge of His Rule

Hungary’s opposition Tisza Party surged to an unprecedented 15 percentage point lead over Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s Fidesz in an opinion poll, with more voters now expecting the strongman premier to face defeat in the next elections.

Tisza leads 51% over 36% for Fidesz among decided voters, according to a poll by Median published in news website HVG on Wednesday. In March, the same pollster measured a nine-point lead for Tisza.
