HSBC Names Chua as Head of M&A in Pivot to Asia, Middle East

HSBC Holdings Plc has appointed Christopher Chua as head of mergers and acquisitions as the lender targets growth in Asia and the Middle East after a sweeping revamp.

Chua will lead HSBC’s M&A business in Asia and the Middle East in his new role, which takes effect immediately, according to a memo reviewed by Bloomberg News. He will also join the firm’s capital markets and advisory leadership, reporting to Adam Bagshaw, global head of CMA.
