Democratic Senators Request Details of Upcoming Housing Meeting

A handful of Democratic senators are asking key government officials including Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent for information regarding a meeting this week where Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac may be discussed.

The director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, Bill Pulte, as well as Bessent and the heads of the Securities and Exchange Commission and Department of Housing and Urban Development are expected to gather Tuesday as part of the Federal Housing Finance Oversight Board meeting, according to a post Pulte on X last month.
