Colombia Activates Fiscal ‘Escape Clause’ and Plans Tax Hike

Colombia activated an “escape clause” to suspend borrowing limits as the finance ministry forecasts the widest fiscal deficit since the pandemic.

The ministry also said that it will send a bill to congress to increase taxes.
