Texas Governor Readies National Guard Troops Ahead of Protests

Texas Governor Greg Abbott vowed to use National Guard troops if needed to maintain order during protests against President Donald Trump this weekend.

“Texas National Guard will be deployed to locations across the state to ensure peace and order,” Abbott said in a post on X. “Peaceful protest is legal. Harming a person or property is illegal and will lead to arrest.”
