South Korea’s newly elected President Lee Jae-myung made a high-profile visit to the main stock exchange, signaling a commitment to follow through on his pledges to boost the market.

In discussions with traders Wednesday, Lee emphasized ways to curb abusive practices in the market, including share manipulation, as well as plans to change taxes to spur more dividends and other updates to support investors, according to a statement from his office.
