Gemini, a cryptocurrency exchange platform backed by the billionaire Winklevoss twins, has filed to go public on the heels of the frenzied debut by stablecoin issuer Circle Internet Group Inc.

Gemini made its plans known to regulators through a confidential filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Companies use this method of registration to keep information private before opening their books to greater scrutiny. The filing confirmed an earlier Bloomberg News report.
