Russia’s data show the nation kept its crude oil production below its OPEC+ target in May, according to people familiar with the figures.

Producers pumped 8.979 million barrels a day last month, almost unchanged from April levels, the people said, asking not to be identified because the information isn’t public. That’s 19,000 barrels a day below Russia’s target for May under the OPEC+ deal, including compensation for past overproduction.
