The contentious election of new Supreme Court judges in Mexico has unleashed a fresh controversy, this time over their attire.

Typically, the judges — including former Chief Justice Arturo Zaldívar — wear a black robe in court. But the new president elected on Sunday, Hugo Aguilar Ortiz, plans to wear the formal attire of his Indigenous community.
