Kerry Says COP30 Climate Talks Will Require ‘More Nuanced Cooperation’

With COP30 approaching, the political dynamic around addressing climate change is much more complicated than it was a year ago, said John Kerry, former US Secretary of State and Special Presidential Envoy for Climate.

The negotiations at the upcoming climate summit in Belém, Brazil, are “going to require greater diplomatic, greater adaptability, and frankly much more nuanced cooperation than ever before,” Kerry said, speaking Wednesday at a Bloomberg Intelligence event. He didn’t mention US President Donald Trump during his 15-minute presentation.
