Australia’s center-right Liberal and National opposition parties have reassembled into a formal coalition, about a week after ending their decades-long alliance in the wake of a devastating national election loss.

Liberal Party leader Sussan Ley announced her shadow ministry Wednesday following the reformation of the Liberal-National Coalition, a conservative political grouping that has contested elections and held power together in Australia since the 1940s. Deputy leader Ted O’Brien will take up the position of shadow treasurer, making him the opposition’s chief economic spokesperson.
