US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said building a new air traffic control system is the country’s most pressing infrastructure need, amplifying his push for lawmakers to fund the sweeping initiative.

“We are going to be ready to go on day one” once Congress appropriates money for the effort, Duffy told reporters on Wednesday. “This is the most critical infrastructure project that this country has at this moment.”
