Turkey’s Top Diplomat Heads for Russia to Discuss Ukraine, Syria
Turkey’s foreign minister is set to travel to Russia on Monday to discuss the situation in Ukraine, following direct talks earlier this month in Istanbul between the two sides in conflict.
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will underline to Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov Turkey’s interest in “achieving a fair and lasting peace in the Russia-Ukraine war,” according to state-run news agency Anadolu. Fidan is also set to hold talks with other senior Russian officials, including Deputy President Vladimir Medinsky.
