Zambia Halts Rate Hikes as Corn Boom Seen Cooling Inflation

Zambia’s central bank held its key interest rate as it expects the disinflation process to continue.

The monetary policy committee maintained the rate at 14.5%, Governor Denny Kalyalya told reporters in the capital, Lusaka, on Friday, after raising it by 50 basis points in February.
