The European Union has agreed to reinstate quotas on imports of several agricultural goods from Ukraine, adding to the challenges faced by its war-hit economy.

The limits, which were eliminated in the early stages of Russia’s invasion in 2022 to support local farmers, were reimposed by the European Commission on Thursday, a spokesperson told Bloomberg News. The renewed restrictions will come into effect on June 6.
