Macron Talks Up China Ties and Touts Progress on Cognac

French President Emmanuel Macron is seeking to deepen economic ties with China as the European Union adjusts to the twin shocks of the American trade war and the continuing Russian invasion of Ukraine.

France wants to keep building a strong economic relationship with Beijing, Macron told Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping ahead of a trip to Southeast Asia.
