Telesat Said to Seek Bids for Up to $1 Billion to Build Stations

Telesat Corp., a Canadian satellite operator looking to compete with SpaceX’s Starlink, is seeking bids in its push to expand and manage new ground stations for a deal that could fetch as much as $1 billion, people with knowledge of the matter said.

The Ottawa-based company is working with an adviser to run an auction process to win the right to build the infrastructure for Telesat, said the people, who asked not to be identified because they weren’t authorized to speak publicly.
