CATL’s Zeng Slams Espionage Claims After Hong Kong Debut

Robin Zeng, the billionaire founder and chairman of Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd., pushed back on US accusations the Chinese battery giant’s technology poses a threat to national security, saying the company has never sold any of its products to the military.

“The accusation is completely groundless,” Zeng said in an interview with Bloomberg News. “It’s fine that different people hold different views against us. We’re OK to just do business with those who share the same values. We never want to sell any products to the military or for warfare.”
