Brazil is still analyzing new suspected cases of bird flu on commercial poultry farms, raising concerns the deadly virus may be spreading in the world’s largest chicken exporter.
The suspected cases are in the southern state of Santa Catarina and northern state of Tocantins, Brazil’s Agriculture Minister Carlos Favaro said at a press conference on Monday. If confirmed, these cases would add to a first occurrence detected in a commercial flock in Rio Grande do Sul last week.
